Camping is a special part of Scouting and the summer of 2009 saw us return to Haliburton Scout Reserve for another fantastic week of fun! And, of course, we have lots of pictures to show for it.

Our 'experience' HRS campers: Paul, Chris, Liam, Jonathan, and Nicky, were joined by Matthew, Casey, Rebecca and Shawn. Scouters Carol, Eva, Melody, and Lucas were joined, for a few days, by Scouter Mike.

We were back at our favourite site: Kingfisher. And, although we didn't have our red squirrel, Hammy, we did have a LARGE snapping turtle (who loved the fish Chris caught), a young muskrat (who loved our left overs) a Kingfisher (naturally), several Blue Jays and a very bold chipmunk.

We even had guests! Chris's parents dropped by (and would have loved to stay), and the 944th BSA Troop joined us for dinner one night.

Liam, Jonathan and Casey decided to try out their survival skills on the last night. They found a safe and secure place to spend the night, and had a wonderful time preparing it and slept well!

Some of the events were: mountain biking, kayaking, snorkling, low ropes, sailing (Rebecca is a natural!), and the Regatta and Rifelry and Archery Compititions. Thanks to some help from some counsellers with the War Canoe, we placed 2nd in the Regatta; Jonathan placed 2nd in the Scout level Rifelry and Casey placed 2nd in the Scout level Archery; Paul placed 1st, and was Camp Champion, in the Venturer level Rifelry, while Chris placed 2nd in the Venturer level Archery. We are very proud of all of them!

Ok, enough words! Here are some of the pictures!! Hope you enjoy them!

All in all, it was a wonderful trip and we are looking forward to our next return in 2011!

Now, come back soon because we'll have more from our 2010 camps?
